<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer that reduces cost, without increasing the number of parts and manufacturing manhours, while detachably supporting a platen roller by a frame. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal printer includes a platen roller 1, a thermal head 2, and a frame including the thermal head 2 and detachably supporting a bearing 16 of the platen roller 1 by a platen roller receiving part 120 provided in the side plate 110 of the frame. The platen roller receiving part 120 includes an opening 126 for attaching the bearing 16 of the platen roller 1 in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the platen roller 1.
