<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device for shortening a time required for spinup by limiting the number of medium types for generating an error signal. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device includes: an optical disk discriminating section 8 for discriminating the kind of an optical disk and the number of layers of an information recording layer; a control section 2 for specifying which medium type group among a plurality of medium type groups classified in advance the optical disk belongs to, making error signal generation circuits 9 and 10 generate a tracking error signal and/or a focus error signal about the specified medium type group, and subsequently temporarily determining a medium type of the optical disk; and offset adjusting means for performing offset adjustment of the tracking error signal and/or the focus error signal about the temporarily determined medium type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
