<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glossiness applying device capable of preventing occurence of uneven glossiness resulting from temperature unevenness of conveyance means and keeping the quality of a glossy image. <P>SOLUTION: A glossiness applying device includes a glossiness applying belt 30, cooling jackets 42 and 43, a heating roller 36, a pressing roller 40, and a suction fan 41. A sheet P on which an image is fixed is compressed by the heating roller 36 and the pressing roller 40 when passing through a nip, and is heated by the glossiness applying belt 30, and remelted toner is made close contact with the glossiness applying belt 30 and is conveyed together with the sheet P. The glossiness applying belt 30 moves while contacting with the cooling jackets 42 and 43 and is cooled, a toner image in a molten state is solidified, a front face of a fixing image portion on a side of the glossiness applying belt 30 is smoothed along a surface of the glossiness applying belt 30, and the glossiness is applied. The suction fan 41 allows a space between the cooling jackets 42 and 43 to have negative pressure to apply tensile force to the glossiness applying belt 30 from the inside thereof, to thereby prevent the occurence of waving and a wrinkle of the glossiness applying belt 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
