<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety by controlling a seat belt device. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device to be controlled includes an automatic locking type retractor (ALR). When a belt is pulled out to the maximum, it prohibits the movement in a pullout direction by locking the belt in the pullout direction until retracting of the belt is finished. A seat belt control device for controlling the device obtains information on weight that acts on a seat (S310), and sets a belt length limit value (an upper limit of a pullout amount of the belt) corresponding to the weight (S320). When the belt is pulled out over the limit value, a force against this is made to work from a motor built in the retractor by energization control to the retractor (S350). Thus, the belt is prevented from being pulled out to the maximum by a child user of a prescribed age group seated in the seat, and an ALR function is made unworkable.
