<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the user of a video display device, when he, after having changed a video signal input source apparatus from a video reproduction unit to another one, has changed the input source apparatus back to the video reproduction unit, to restart viewing video from the video reproduction unit immediately from where he left off. <P>SOLUTION: When the user changes a video signal input source apparatus from a BD player 2 to another apparatus (S1), <User Control Pressed>[Play] for letting video reproduction start is transmitted to the BD player 2 (S3), and then <User Control Pressed>[Stop] is transmitted to the BD player 2 without waiting for a response from the BD player 2 for the command to be received (S5).
