<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate opening/closing device which is compact, and can surely open and close a flow passage and also open and close a door body without a complicated mechanism nor control. <P>SOLUTION: A gate opening/closing device 10 is provided with: a door body 16; a torque arm 11 which uses a hydraulic cylinder 21 as a driving device which opens and closes the door body 16, and converts linear motion of the hydraulic cylinder 21 into rotational motion; and a torque axis 12 which serves as a center axis of rotation. A stopper link 14 is coupled to the torque arm 11, and a door body metal fixture 15 provided on the door body 16 is coupled to the stopper link 14. A spring link for coupling a predetermined position of the torque arm 11 and a predetermined position of the stopper link 14 to each other is provided as a mechanism for moving the door body 16 in a substantially perpendicular direction.
