[Class 132 (ii).] A pres s for tennis and other rackets comprises a pair of opposed rigid frames 2, 3, a pair only of U-shaped clamps 14 disposed one on each side of . the frames and adapted for engaging outside the same, and operating devices 11, 7 carried by the clamps and engaging one at least of the frames for positively moving the frames towards and away from one another to press or release a racket 1 positioned therebetween. As shown, the U-shaped clamps 14 are attached by screws 4 to the lower frame 2, and the upper limbs of the clamps are folded upon themselves to form a mounting for leaf springs 7 and to carry the clamping screws 11 adapted to be screwed down upon the upper frame 3. The ends of the leaf springs are attached to the upper frame by a pin and slot connection 9 so as to raise the upper frame as the clamping screws are unscrewed. Lugs 2<1> facilitate the correct location of the racket.</p> |
