PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying a gene associated with an alanine excretion transporter and improving alanine secretion productivity in an microorganism capable of producing the alanine by utilizing the gene.

SOLUTION: The recombinant microorganism is obtained by modifying a microorganism capable of producing the L-alanine so as to have enhanced expression of ygaW gene or a gene that is functionally equivalent to the ygaW gene. The gene encodes a protein having the L-alanine excretion transporter function.
