<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce high-purity deionized water while inhibiting the generation of a scale. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric deionized water production apparatus provided with at least one desalting unit between a cathode and an anode facing each other, the desalting unit comprises a desalting chamber D and a pair of concentration chambers C1, C2 provided on both adjacent sides of the desalting chamber D, the desalting chamber D is partitioned into a first small desalting chamber D-1 and a second small desalting chamber D-2, the first small desalting chamber D-1 is filled with an anion exchanger, the second small desalting chamber D-2 is filled with an anion exchanger and a cation exchanger in such order that the anion exchanger is the last ion exchanger through which water to be treated passes, the water to be treated having passed through the first small desalting chamber D-1 is supplied to the second small desalting chamber D-2, and a part of the water to be treated having passed through the second small desalting chamber D-2 is supplied to at least one of the pair of concentration chambers C1, C2 as concentrated water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
