<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator which improves energy efficiency and simplifies its structure. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric actuator comprises: a vibrator having a piezoelectric element, which is vibrated by supplying a driving signal to the piezoelectric element, the vibrator having a rectangular planar shape in which a ratio between a length in a long side direction and a length in a short side direction is approximately n to one (n is an integer of two or more); and a contact part provided in the vibrator, which contacts with a target to be driven in response to the vibration of the vibrator. In the piezoelectric actuator, a first vibration causing the vibrator to expand and contract to the long side direction of the rectangular shape in a first frequency and a second vibration causing the vibrator to expand and contract to the short side direction of the rectangular shape in a second frequency different from the first frequency are generated by the driving signal, and the first vibration and the second vibration causes the contact part to contact with the target, thereby driving the target. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
