PURPOSE: A power disconnecting device for a steam cleaner is provided to arrange a structure for a short-circuit of a positive and a negative electric wire to easily interrupt a current applied through a power switch by the carelessness of a user. CONSTITUTION: A power disconnecting device for a steam cleaner comprises a pair of power lines, a pair of switches(21), and a push unit. The pair of power lines is connected with the power supply unit to supply a control unit with electric current. The pair of switches is installed between the power supply unit and the control unit, and respectively performs short-circuit or connection of the power lines. The pair of switches is installed inside the switch block. The push unit installed on the upper side of the pair of switches simultaneously either connects a pair of switches or performs short-circuit for the pair of switches by the pressing operation. The push unit is elastically supported by a spring on the upper part of a switch block to be ascended and descended. The lower part of the switch block is provided with a pair of a first connection terminals(22) and a pair of a second connection terminals for the electrical connection of the power lines.
