<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can significantly suppress the amount of gel generated in a polycarbonate resin under the conditions in air that high temperature is held for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: According to the method, 5,000 mg of powder comprising a polycarbonate resin composition is heated in air on aluminum foil under the conditions of 300°C temperature for 6 hours, followed by dissolving it in dichloromethane and filtering it through a membrane filter made of PTFE having a pore size of 10 μm, and the weight of gel collected at that time on the filter can be made down to 50 mg or less. The polycarbonate resin composition has 0.25-0.55 pt.wt. of full ester (component B) of a saturated fatty acid of 16-22 carbons and pentaerythritol, and 100 pts.wt. of polycarbonate resin (component A), wherein the component A has an Fe content of 200 ppb or less, and an Na content of 100 ppb or less.
