<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device with a tilt mechanism which can suppress the aged deterioration velocity of a cam body of a lock mechanism as well as the degradation of locking strength over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: Side plates 41 of a column-side bracket 32 with a steering column 6 fixed thereon and side plates 37 of a vehicle body-side bracket 31 are coupled to energize the side plate 41 in a closing direction by screwing, through disc springs 47, nuts 46 into both ends with a spindle 33 inserted. Between the pair of side plates 37, there are provided a cylindrical section 48 externally inserted onto the spindle 33, a cam mechanism 53 having a first cam member 54 fixed on one end of the cylindrical section 48 and a second cam member 55 non-rotatably supported on the side plate 37. When each of the cam members 54, 55 is in an engagement state, the side plate 37 frictionally engages with the side plate 41 for locking. When each of the cam members 54, 55 is not in an engagement state, the side plate 37 is expanded to open for unlocking. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
