PURPOSE: A steering angle sensor fail detection system is provided to exactly detect the fail of a steering angle sensor caused by the slip influence of a decelerator. CONSTITUTION: A steering angle sensor fail detection system comprises a steering angle sensor(110), a motor position sensor(120), a wheel speed sensor, and an electronic control unit(140). The steering angle sensor outputs a steering angle signal corresponding to the rotation angle of a steering wheel(102). The motor position sensor senses the position of the rotor of a motor and outputs a position sensing signal. The wheel speed sensor outputs a wheel speed signal about the wheel speed of a vehicle. The electronic control unit compares the value of the position sensing signal with a steering angle calculated according to the wheel speed signal, and outputs the fail signal of the steering angle sensor.
