<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized image reader which prevents heat expansion of members of an optical system accompanying temporal temperature rise and prevents decline of read accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader includes an integrated optical unit 1 for which a light source 3, reflection mirrors 6a, 6b and 6c, an image forming lens 7 and an imaging device 8 are integrally loaded on a unit case 1c, and reads images of an original by moving the integrated optical unit 1 in a scanning direction. In the image reader, the unit case 1c includes a windmill body 2 which is installed at an opening 1a provided on an optional main surface constituting the unit case 1c and has a windmill part to be rotated by receiving wind force generated by movement of the integrated optical unit 1 and a fan part that comprises a plurality of blades to be rotated by receiving driving force by rotation of the windmill part and supplies air from the outside to the inside of the unit case 1c or discharges air from the inside of the unit case 1c to the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
