<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage container allowing insertion of a wound body into the storage container for short time when assembling the storage container. <P>SOLUTION: The storage container 3 stores the wound body 2 of a packaging medium 12 and has an opening 30 on one face, and includes: a bottom plate 4 facing the opening and having short sides 61 and a long side 31 meeting the short sides 61 at right angles and longer than the short sides 61; a front plate 5 raised from the long side of the bottom plate; a rear plate 6 raised from another long side 32 of the bottom plate, facing the long side 31; a cover plate 22 connected with the rear plate and opening/closing the opening; a pressing plate connected with the front plate at a connected side facing the long side of the bottom plate; and side surface plates extended from an end in a longitudinal direction X1 of at least any one of the bottom plate, front plate and rear plate, and raised from the short sides. The pressing plate 34 has a bonding face 36 bonding to a rear side of the cover plate 22 and bonded to the cover plate.
