<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof material which is excellent in resistance to staining and resistance to weather, has high adhesion and is excellent in heat shielding property without requiring primer and top coating, and to provide a method for renovating waterproof layer using the waterproof material. <P>SOLUTION: The waterproof material includes: a core-shell type emulsion having Tg of -40 to -20°C; an extender pigment having oil-absorbing amount of 10 to 40 mg/100 g; and a colored pigment besides carbon black, and has solar reflectance of 50% or more.
