<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage unit which can prevent occurrence of diffused reflection and perform reading processing without being influenced by ambient light, by comprising light shielding means which shields at least a corner of a reflection member on a light source side from a reflection light emitted by a reading target. <P>SOLUTION: A carriage unit comprises: a light guide irradiating a reading target by guiding light emitted by a light source; a light guide holder holding the light guide; and a plurality of reflection members forming a series of reading light paths by reflection light from the reading target. The carriage unit comprises shielding means for shielding a corner of one reflection member among a plurality of reflection members that exists in a main scanning direction within the shortest distance from a light irradiation surface, from the reflection light emitted from the reading target. The shielding means is installed between the reading target and a reflection surface of the reflection member. The shielding means comprises a concave part formed at a bottom of the light guide holder, and in the concave part, at least a corner of the reflection member on a reflection surface side is received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
