<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of producing an image in which flash light may not reflect on glasses. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic camera captures a subject to obtain an image in response to the half-pressed operation of a release button, and detects whether the subject wears glasses or not on the basis of the image data obtained. If wearing the glasses are detected, the camera performs a flash photography and a non-flash photography in time sequence in response to the full-pressed operation of the release button. For image data 66 obtained by the flash photography, the camera produces synthesized image data 67 by synthesizing a cutout image 65 cutting out whole or a part of an image area containing the glasses from image data 76 obtained by the non-flash photography.
