<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network processor control device capable of reducing power consumption of a network processor. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 100 controls a network processor (NP) configured to execute overall processing on a packet in accordance with a pipeline scheme. The NP comprises plural processing units that are serially connected and each comprises a processor element (PE) and a buffer. The control device 100 includes: for each of the plural buffers, an unprocessed data-piece obtainment part 101 for obtaining the number of pieces of unprocessed data; for each individual of plural PEs, an operation frequency determination part 102 for determining an operation frequency of the individual PE; and for each individual of plural PEs, an operation frequency control part 103 for controlling the individual PE so as to operate at the determined operation frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
