<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device that relieves limitations on the flexibility of driving within a range in which a driver's sense of safety is not spoiled to thereby improve drivability. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 7 determines the erroneous depression of an accelerator pedal 4 based a depression force and a depression speed of the accelerator pedal 4, and reduces the driving force of the vehicle.
