<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing chopsticks by which chopsticks that has good touch and hardly slips when gripped can be manufactured, and the yield can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing chopsticks sequentially includes: a first cutting-off step of cutting off raw material bamboo for each predetermined length to form first intermediates; a second cutting-off step of peripherally dividing and cutting off the first intermediate in the predetermined number to form second intermediates having fan-shaped cross sections; a third cutting-off step of forming a third intermediate having a rectangular cross section from the second intermediate; a cutting step of rotating and pressing a pair of cutting rollers R against the third intermediate at positions shifted from each other in a length direction and cutting the third intermediate to form a fourth intermediate 4 having a hexagonal cross section; and a fourth cutting-off step of cutting off the fourth intermediate 4 for each predetermined length. The cutting rollers R used for the cutting step each have a plurality of trapezoidal grooves 20 on an outer peripheral surface, the trapezoidal groove having a side E<SB POS="POST">1</SB>parallel with an axis A of the cutting roller R in a cross section containing the axis A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
