<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recommendation of a source code from which more preferable processing details or execution results are obtainable. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes a comparison unit for comparing an intermediate code converted from a source code of a program being developed, not the source code itself, with an intermediate code of a program stored in a database in system development. The information processing apparatus also includes a similarity calculation unit for calculating a similarity between the programs on the basis of a result of the comparison between the intermediate codes by the comparison unit. In addition, a narrowing-down process is performed for a candidate to be recommended using additional information of the program as occasion demands.
