PURPOSE: An electro gas welding apparatus and method are provided to improve the quality of a weld zone by floating impurities in a weld metal with a vibrating force generated by a vibration generator. CONSTITUTION: An electro gas welding apparatus(100) comprises a fixing jig(110) in which a base material(101) for electro gas welding is fixed, a carriage(120) which is moved up and down along a guide rail arranged on one side of the base material, a welding torch which is mounted on the carriage and moved along a weld portion of the base material while generating the arc to weld the weld portion of the base material, and a vibration generator(130) which generates vibration to remove impurities produced in the weld metal during welding.
