<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor control rod which is capable of further suppressing gap corrosion of a sheath. <P>SOLUTION: A reactor control rod 1 having a cross-shaped section comprises a tie rod 4 disposed in an axial center and four blades 2 extending in four directions from the tie rod 4. Each of the blades 2 includes a sheath 6 having an U-shaped cross section. Within the sheath 6, a plurality of hafnium members 3U are disposed which are elliptical tubes. The sheath 6 includes a sheath member that is a base material, and on an inner surface of the sheath member, a Cr membrane 6a is formed on a surface confronted with the hafnium member 3U. The sheath 6 forms a Cr diffusion layer between the Cr membrane 6a and the sheath member. The Cr diffusion layer is formed together with the Cr membrane 6a, so that the reactor control rod 1 is further capable of suppressing gap corrosion of the sheath 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
