<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "navigation system and map display method" in which, when calling and displaying a map that was being displayed when a facility attracting a user is discovered during travel, the facility attracting the user can be searched easily in the map when a present vehicle is stopped. <P>SOLUTION: In response to operating a storage button 520, spot information indicating a current spot of a present vehicle on a map image 500 and display format information specifying a display format of the map image 500 are recorded. In response to operating a call button 560, on the basis of the recorded spot information and display format information, setting for displaying a map image 580 around the recorded spot is performed thereafter and then the map image 580 is produced and displayed. Therefore, a display format of the map image 580 which is displayed while the vehicle is stopped is matched with the display format of the map image 500 that was being displayed during travel. Therefore, a user is enabled to watch a map which is displayed while the vehicle is stopped, with sensation closer to the case where the user discovered a facility attracting the user during travel and watched the map. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
