<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer which is capable of preventing erroneous measurement by detecting that a sample container is taken out before dispensing a sample, and notifying a detected result. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic analyzer produces a mixture by dispensing a sample and a reagent corresponding to the sample from containers upon receiving a measuring instruction, measures components of the sample through pre-analysis of components of the mixture and comprises a first storage, a second storage, detection means and notification means. The first storage is formed to store the sample container therein and to take it out. The second storage is formed to store the reagent container therein and to take it out. The detection means detects whether or not the sample container or the reagent container is taken out of the first storage or the second storage before the sample or the reagent is dispensed.
