<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire, which is capable of improving running performance on snow, and which exhibits superior on-snow performance over a long period of time, by suppressing degradation of the on-snow performance due to wear of a tread surface due to use of tires. <P>SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire, one or more annular peripheral grooves 2 continuously extending in a circumferential direction on the tread surface are arranged, and a plurality of lands are sectioned and formed by the annular peripheral grooves 2. A plurality of closed grooves 11 and 12 which extend while crossing each other at one or more intersection points V1, and both ends of which terminate within the land are provided on the land surface. An intersection groove 13 having a radial section extending in at least three directions from the intersection points V1 of the closed grooves 11 and 12 is formed by each of the plurality of closed grooves 11 and 12, and one or more closed grooves 11 and 12 constituting the intersection groove 13 are branched on the way to an inner side in the radial direction of the tire.
