<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent beforehand occurrence of firing by monitoring overheat of a power receptacle, using a network environment such as the Internet. <P>SOLUTION: A power receptacle monitoring system measures temperature of each power receptacle device 10-1 to 10-5 that supplies power to equipment disposed on a residence 11, and transmits each temperature measurement signal to a network adaptor 12 based on a predetermined communication protocol. The network adaptor 12 converts it into the Internet communication protocol to transmit to a server 22. Based on the temperature measurement signal, the server 22 determines overheat and allows an overheat alarm to be issued from a user mobile phone 28. The mobile phone 28 issues the overheat alarm.
