<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable simultaneous setting of single-sheet folding and batch folding for enclosures and to efficiently perform a variety of folding and insertion processing. <P>SOLUTION: An insertion system includes a folding device to perform either single-sheet folding to fold a single sheet at a time or batch folding to fold multiple sheets together at a time, and an insertion device to insert paper into envelopes. The operation of pressing a simultaneous setting button a21 on an enclosure setting input screen a20 makes it possible for the system to simultaneously set a single-sheet folding process or a batch holding process when folding multiple sheets and inserting them into envelopes. Alternatively, the operation of pressing an individual setting button a22 allows the insertion system to perform individual setting.
