SUPPORT TOOL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR GLASS SUBSTRATE FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support tool capable of uniformly polishing an outer peripheral end face of a glass substrate laminated body without being bent even if a polishing brush is pressed to the outer peripheral end face.

SOLUTION: The support tool supports a plurality of sheets of disk-shaped glass substrates for a magnetic recording medium, each of which includes a circular hole at a center portion. The support tool includes a support shaft which is inserted into the circular holes to position the plurality of sheets of the glass substrates for a magnetic recording medium. The support shaft has a Young's modulus of 150 GPa or more.
