<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip capable of surely fixing a mat by holding the mat by a holding piece without the necessity of providing a mounting hole in the mat. <P>SOLUTION: This clip holds and fixes an object to be held by a base member and a holding plate journaled to be half-rotable in relation to the base member. The clip includes: an operation shaft which is located on an opposite side of the holding side for holding the object to be held by the base member and the holding plate and is movable in a coaxial direction with a moving direction of the object to be held; an operation section formed integrally with the operation shaft; a butting section formed in a part of the operation shaft; and regulation means for regulating an operation of the operation section.
