<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a throughput in pattern recognition processing because an object detection device performs the pattern recognition processing that needs a constant throughput to detect that a predetermined object is included in an image and because a throughput needed for the pattern recognition processing is relatively on a large scale. <P>SOLUTION: A distance to a subject is calculated each pixel constituting an image by using a parallax in the subject reflected in one set of two stereo images photographed by an imaging apparatus group. A pixel group of a portion of the subject reflected ahead of a background among subjects reflected in the image. Further, pattern recognition processing based on statistical learning is subjected to the extracted pixel group of the portion of the subject to detect that a predetermined prescribed object is included as a subject in the extracted pixel group of the portion of the subject. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
