<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify whether a transmitter is mounted on a right wheel or a left wheel without requiring a triggering device and without depending on a technique employing the large amount of computations as the calculation of phase difference. <P>SOLUTION: A wheel position detection device identifies whether a transmitter is mounted on a right wheel or a left wheel according to whether a sign of a product of a time differential value of normal-direction acceleration and tangential-direction acceleration is positive or negative. Therefore, a triggering device is not required, and the acceleration sampling at short sampling period is not required to be performed numerously. Consequently, a triggering device is not required, and whether the transmitter 2 is mounted on the right wheel or the left wheel can be identified without using a technique employing the large amount of computations as the calculation of phase difference of detection signals of a dual axis G sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
