<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam separator which is capable of decreasing a suitable quantity of liquid accompanied with steam outside of the steam separator while using a simple structure, and capable of reducing carry-over under a high-quality condition while suppressing increase in ventilation resistance of steam. <P>SOLUTION: A second-stage outer casing comprises a second-stage separated water discharge port which discharges water flowing into a second-stage discharge flow passage and a second-stage steam discharge port which discharges steam. The second-stage steam discharge port is disposed at a position higher than the second-stage separated water discharge port. A third-stage outer casing comprises a third-stage separated water discharge port which discharges water flowing into a third-stage discharge flow passage, and a third stage steam discharge port which discharges steam.
