HIGH-PHOTO INDUCED HAEMATOCOCCUS MUTANT OF IMPROVING ASTAXANTHIN PRODUCTIVITY DUE TO INCREASED PHOTOSENSITIVITY AND ITS SCREENING METHOD

PURPOSE: A haematococcus mutant PPM 160(KCTC 18218P) with improved astaxanthin productivity is provided to enhance photosensitivity and to ensure excellent astaxanthin synthesis ability. CONSTITUTION: A Haematococcus pluvialis mutant PPM 160(KCTC 18218P) has improved astaxanthin productivity. A method for producing the mutant comprises: a step of chemically mutating Haematococcus pluvialis with ethyl methane sulfonate and growing Haematococcus pluvialis in a solid organic nutrient medium under a dark condition; a step of selecting mutants with enhanced photosensitivity from ungrown bacteria; and a step of selecting mutants with improved photo-inducing ability.
