METHOD FOR SUGAR YIELD FROM ALGAE USING HYDROLYSIS

PURPOSE: A method of extracting sugar from algae is provided to maximize hydrolysis extraction condition, thereby maximizing the extraction efficiency of sugars. CONSTITUTION: A method of extracting sugar from algae comprises: a step of preparing an algae biomass; a step of pre-treating the algae biomass by using an imidazolium-based ionic liquid; and a step of hydrolysis by adding an acid catalyst to the pre-treated algae biomass. The algae biomass is in a powder state which proteins, chlorophylls, wax, and non-structured carbohydrates are removed. The pre-treatment is conducted by dissolving the algae biomass in the imidazolium-based ionic liquid to manufacture a homogenous solution.
