The terminal (MT1) has a communication unit (MC1) that communicates via a cellular network, and another communication unit (MC2) that communicates via an Internet protocol (IP) network. An intercepting unit is utilized to intercept a request for establishment of a telephone call via the cellular network with a recipient mobile terminal. A control unit (MI) is utilized for controlling a voice over IP (VoIP) communication mode without passing through the cellular network using obtained IP address and the latter communication unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for establishing communication by a mobile terminal (2) a data processing program comprising a set of instructions for performing a method for establishing communication by the mobile terminal (3) an IP network server.
