The aim of the invention is to provide a deflecting unit with a sensor device for a pulling means of a lifting device, said deflecting unit being particularly simple to integrate into the lifting device. Another aim of the invention is to provide a corresponding lifting device comprising the deflecting unit. For this purpose, a deflecting unit 7a, b for a pulling means 6 a, b of a lifting device 2 is provided, comprising a deflecting roller 11 for deflecting the pulling means 6a, b; comprising a supporting device 13; comprising a bearing device 15, said deflecting roller 11 being mounted on the supporting device 13 in a rotatable manner about a rotational axis via the bearing device 15; comprising a signal generator 29 for generating a generator signal 32 dependent on the rotational movement and/or the rotational position of the deflecting roller 11 relative to the supporting device 13; comprising a sensor section 33 for outputting a sensor signal 35 based on the generator signal 32; and comprising a communication section 36 that is designed to wirelessly transmit a transmission signal 9 based on the sensor signal 35 to an analyzing device 10.
