A fluid flow control structure (24) is arranged between the first absorbent layer (22) and the backsheet (4). The fluid flow control structure (24) is a layered structure comprising a non-perforated fibrous polymeric layer (31 ) and a first perforated polymeric layer (32) having a basis weight of from 50 g/m2 to100 g/m2.</p>
