The device (1) has a push-off bolt (5) displaced between one position holding a switching element e.g. micro switch (4) or push button, with an operating plunger in an opened switching state, and another position holding the switch in a closed switching state. The bolt is displaced from the former position against prestressing force of a screw spring (6) into the latter position for energization of electromagnets (3). The bolt is displaced from the latter position by spring force of the spring into the former position during short-time interruption of energization of the electromagnets.
