PURPOSE: An electric powered power assistance steering apparatus is provided to compensate for offset component exactly by compensating for the offset component of a motor current sensor before an initial driving current is provided to a motor. CONSTITUTION: An electric powered power assistance steering apparatus(100) comprises a torque sensor(110), a vehicle speed sensor(111), an electronic control unit(112), a motor driving unit(113), and a motor current sensor(114). The torque sensor detects a steering torque acting in a steering wheel(102) and outputs a steering torque signal corresponding to the steering torque. The vehicle speed sensor detects a vehicle speed and outputs a vehicle speed signal corresponding to the vehicle speed. The electronic control unit sets up a target current value for driving a motor(108) according to the steering torque signal and the vehicle speed signal, receives a real current value from a motor current sensor, compares a real current flowing in the motor to the target current value, corrects the target current value according to the current vehicle speed and the steering torque, outputs a motor control signal. The motor driving unit supplies a current to the motor according to a motor control signal outputted from the electronic control unit. The motor current sensor detects the real current flowing in the motor and outputs the real current signal corresponding to the real current into the electronic control unit.
