A METHOD OF DETECTING FACIAL FEATURES

PURPOSE: A facial feature detecting method is provided to efficiently detect facial features from an image including a face image regardless of an image photography condition or an image direction. CONSTITUTION: A face feature detector detects a face area from a photographed image(S12). The detector extracts interest points from the extracted face area(S13). The detector separates the extracted face area into multiple sub areas(S14). The detector extracts local maxima points from the multiple sub areas(S15). The detector selects an optimized area which is the most similar to a feature image around the extracted local maxima points(S16). The detector determines an optimized area having the highest similarity among the selected optimized areas(S17).
