DIRECT AND BACK VIEW LED LIGHTING SYSTEM

A direct and back view LED lighting system (100) is disclosed. Embodiments of a lighting system (100) and example light fixture (300) are described. LED devices (210) provide the light source. The LED devices (210) can be positioned with a heatsink (101, 331) at or near the top of the system (100) proximate to a back reflector (106, 327). In example embodiments, the LED devices (210) emit light downward. The system (100) can be used in a troffer style fixture (300) with a support structure (326) and a pan (332). The system (100) or fixture (300) can have a lens arrangement including lenses, lens plates or sections with differing optical characteristics, including a partially reflective lens plate or section (102, 502) that passes and diffuses some light from the LED light source, but reflects some light back to the back reflector (106, 327). Additional lenses or lens plates (108, 508) serve as diffusers.
