The present invention relates to a method for washing laundry in a laundry washing machine comprising a washing tub external to a rotatable washing drum wherein the laundry to be washed is loaded. The method comprises the steps of: ° providing a quantity of detergent; ° providing a first quantity of water to form with the quantity of detergent a quantity of washing solution; ° introducing the washing solution into the washing tub; ° recirculating the washing solution inside the washing tub by means of recirculation means until the washing solution is absorbed by the loaded laundry inside the washing drum and the level of the washing solution is below the washing drum; ° activate heating means for heating the wetted loaded laundry inside the washing drum; ° deactivate the heating means and maintain the heated wetted loaded laundry inside the washing drum for a predetermined dry maintenance time; ° supplying a second quantity of water in the washing tub; ° rotating the washing drum; ° rinsing the loaded laundry by means of drum rotations and by means of liquid drainage from the washing tub.
