PACKET SENDING METHOD AND BASE STATION CONTROLLER

Disclosed are a packet sending method and a base station controller. The method comprises: when reaching a sending time point, a base station controller (BSC) determining a packet identity (ID) of a medium access control (MAC) packet that needs to be sent to a base transceiver station (BTS) this time in an error control coding block (ECB); judging whether the ECB is valid; if it is judged that the ECB is valid, sending the MAC packet according to the determined packet ID; if it is judged that the ECB is invalid or that the MAC packet has been sent, filling the packet in the ECB till the ECB is full; judging whether the number of blank packets in the ECB is greater than a preset invalid threshold; if it is judged that the number of blank packets is not greater than the preset invalid threshold, setting the ECB to valid; and if it is judged that the number of blank packets is greater than the preset invalid threshold, setting the ECB to invalid and putting the MAC packets in the ECB back in the BSC. Through the present invention, the situation that the BSC sends a large number of blank packets to the BTS is avoided, thereby effectively saving air interface transmission resources.
