The purpose of the present invention is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with which, in order to increase battery capacity, it is unlikely that battery swelling will occur when the battery is placed in a high-temperature environment in a high-voltage state. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive pole including a positive-pole active substance, a negative pole including a negative-pole active substance, non-aqueous electrolyte, and a separator disposed between the positive pole and the negative pole. An inorganic particle layer is formed between the positive pole and the separator or between the negative pole and the separator. The inorganic particle layer contains a polymer comprising a polyethylene glycol group. The average molecular weight of the polymer comprising a polyethylene glycol group is 200 or more.
