An objective of this invention is to provide a cylindrical body formed from FRP with improved corrosion resistance, and a vacuum pump enclosing the cylindrical body with an extended life span through quality improvement of an anti-corrosion surface treatment. In the embodiment of this invention, with regard to a cylindrical rotating part formed from FRP material, a cavity-filling treatment is applied to a cavity (gap) formed in the manufacturing process of the cylindrical rotating part, and afterwards an anti-corrosion surface treatment is applied. Alternately, the cavity-filling treatment is applied to the cylindrical rotating part after the anti-corrosion surface treatment is applied. As a cavity-filling treatment, coating, embedding, or fusion (heat treatment) is used, obstructing the cavity with resin. |
