METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR ENCODING VIDEO USING ADAPTIVE MEMORY MANAGEMENT SCHEME FOR REFERENCE PICTURES

摘要

A new method for adaptive memory management of reference pictures is introduced. The new method allows higher quality reference pictures to be kept in the decoded picture buffer for a longer period than conventional methods, delays the removal of high quality reference pictures temporally and removes other reference pictures from the buffer when the buffer is full.
