Disclosed are dihydrochaicone derivatives useful in the treatment of inflammatory and neuro-inflammatory diseases such as Alzheimer and Parkinson or conditions such as stroke. Both a and ß carbons of the dihydrochaicone are hydroxylated. Also disclosed are methods of using such compounds in the treatment of inflammatory diseases in mammals and pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds.
